CHARLESTON, SC

Named Americas’ favorite city by Travel & Leisure magazine for 11 years in a row Charleston is a charming city lined with swaying palms, historic churches on just about every corner in the Battery, cobblestone streets and stately mansions.  Southern grandeur is abundant in this vibrant city that has an impressive array of historic monuments, colorful gardens, antebellum homes and iconic landmarks.

City Market, one of the first public markets in the United States, is a cultural shopping and dining mecca where local artisans make and sell handcrafted items. One of the most sought-after artisans are those that create the sweetgrass baskets.  Gullah artisans weaving the bespoke baskets are often spotlighted in the market.

Views of the glimmering harbor from every angle on the Battery draw visitors to walk the promenade, which is especially appealing at sunset.  Nearby Fort Sumter, site of where the first shots were fired that began the Civil War, can be seen from the shores of Charleston.

Sumptuous cuisine is abound in Charleston as several James Beard award winning chefs have opened  restaurants in the Holy City over the last decade.  Gastronomically inclined foodies could enjoy southern BBQ to high end farm to table eateries and bountiful local seafood.  The food scene in Charleston has it all to please every discerning palette.
