BEAUFORT, SC
Nestled between Charleston and Savannah is the charming seaside town of Beaufort. Beaufort, a waterfront community, offers breathtaking coastal views, ancient live oaks, gorgeous antebellum homes and a vibrant dining scene along the downtown district. One of the few designated national historic landmark regions in the United States, Beaufort has rich history that dates back to 1711.
One of the most alluring ways to experience Beaufort is by partaking in a guided horse drawn carriage tour that highlights southern history and grazes by some of the most glorious antebellum homes, churches and gardens in the South. Traveling along the scenic Old Point neighborhood showcases centuries old majestic trees, picturesque gardens and historic landmarks.
Gullah culture thrives in the neighboring sea islands of Lady’s Island, St. Helena, and Harbor Island. Penn Center, a National Historic Monument, is the epicenter for sustaining the history of the Gullah lifestyle. Nearby Hunting Island State Park, one of the most popular parks in South Carolina, has five miles of unspoiled beach, a maritime forest, hiking trails and sea island marshes. The island’s beauty is best seen from the lighthouse, which offers spectacular views of the coastline and other barrier sea islands.
With a variety of resorts, historic venues and waterfront destinations dotted along the coast we also service programs in the coastal region of South Carolina (the Lowcountry) and Georgia.
